The purpose of this role is to support VAST's intake team and provide a warm, culturally appropriate, welcome to any clients interested in any of VAST's individual, group, community, or advocacy services and supports, and to coordinate with the rest of the VAST team. The Community Engagement & Research provides initial, basic support and information to individuals and families who are referred to VAST and connect them to the appropriate services or service providers. In collaboration with the Executive Director, the Clinical team, and the Intake & Outreach Supervisor, the Community Engagement & Research is responsible for connecting to clients in their first language, identifying non-clinical needs, and making referrals to other community-based support services. The purpose of this role is also to lead the Cultural Broker Capacity Building program by working in collaboration with co-facilitators partner organizations to oversee the development and implementation of the program.

We are open to all relevant languages, but specifically looking for Hebrew, Indonesian, Korean, Pashto, Tigrinya, and Russian speaking candidates. We are looking for candidates with trauma-related education, training, experience (preferably working with forced migrants and refugees), and lived experience. We are looking for candidates for Counselor positions in our Trauma Recovery & Torture Rehabilitation organization. We are open to all relevant languages, but specifically looking for Arabic-speaking, Ukrainian-speaking, Russian-speaking, and Dari-speaking candidates. We are looking for Masters Level Counsellors, Expressive Arts Therapists, Psychologists, or Social Workers with relevant trauma-related education, training, experience (preferably working with forced migrants and refugees), and lived experience.
