As a single mother newly arrived in Canada, she has faced overwhelming barriers while trying to build a stable life for herself and her child. From navigating unfamiliar government systems with no guidance to the overwhelming cost of childcare and food, each day has been a fight for survival. With jobs that don’t accommodate single parents and no access to financial aid for newcomers on work or student permits, she has often been forced to choose between income and her child’s well-being. During these early, crucial months, support is noticeably absent.

"I'm an electrical engineer specialized in audio and video, with 20 years of experience in film production. I’m a single mother living with my 7-year-old son, and I have been in Canada for 17 months"

This is not just her story, but the untold story of many mothers like her.

Don't miss the opportunity to hear her journey.
